Deep Learning and Brain Tumors

Research from the lab of Joseph Maldjian, M.D., is determining how to use a deep-learning network and MRI to noninvasively determine molecular characteristics of brain tumors, which has significant implications for prognosis and treatment. Researchers have used artificial intelligence to identify the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutation at 97% accuracy.
